North Korea courts outrage with its third nuclear test


North Korea held its third nuclear test today, underscoring a disregard for an international community that has already isolated the totalitarian state from the global economy.

The test was conducted at 11:57am local time, South Korea's national security adviser Chun Yung Woo said in televised briefing today. The Defense Ministry estimated the yield at 6 to 7 kilotons, bigger than previous two tests.

The atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, had an estimated yield of 15 kilotons and killed 140,000 people.
