Telephonics Corporation awarded contract for Identification Friend or Foe systems to be integrated on USAF E3 AWACS systems

E-3A AWACS |Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation, announced today that it has been awarded a $60 million multi-year contract from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Command (AFLCMC), Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.

Under this contract, Telephonics will supply the AN/UPX-40 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator for integration on to the USAF E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control (AWACS) aircraft including installation kits, installation, and sustainment support.

The Telephonics’ Family of Interrogators is the only IFF interrogators to achieve DoD AIMS certification in all modes including MARK XII, Mode 5, Mode S, and Multi-channel ADS-B.
