On 19 October 2012, the K-433 Sv. Georgiy Pobedonosets Project 667BDR/Delta III-class submarine of the Pacific Fleet launched an R-29R/SS-N-18 missile from the Sea of Okhotsk toward the Chizha test range on the Kanin Peninsula.
A source in the military was quoted as saying that "the missile warhead successfully reached its target."
Previous launch of a R-29R missile - also from the Sv. Georgiy Pobedonosets submarine - was performed in October 2010.
