China's first aircraft carrier completes 6th sea trial

China’s first aircraft carrier has completed its sixth sea trial, and has returned to harbour in Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province. The 9-day-long trial came just a week after the previous one.

The aircraft carrier "Varyag", is a remodelled Soviet-era vessel. It was bought from Ukraine in 1998. It is being refitted for scientific research and training purposes. The maiden sea trial took place in August last year.
