French jet also suited India’s aircraft carrier plans

RafaleSir, James Lamont and James Boxell (“A dogfight over Delhi”, Analysis, February 7) provide an excellent analysis of the competition between Dassault’s Rafale and Eurofighter’s Typhoon for selection as India’s future multi-role fighter aircraft.

Obviously many design and technical details could not be covered in a single article intended for the general public.

However, since the focus was on the selection process and its result – the nod ultimately given to the Rafale – there is one additional technical aspect that probably should be pointed out.
