
In his first major speech, Philip Hammond said that the armed forces shouldn't be "slaves to tradition" and had accepted proposals for change.
"In that spirit I can announce today that I have accepted the recommendation of the first sea lord that women should be allowed to serve in submarines in the future," Hammond told an audience at the Royal United Services Institute thinktank.

That is completly absurd! You cannot have women serve in an Nuclear submarine! These warships are out at sea for months on end without resurfacing. The crews are comprised of 120 or more men confined to small spaces with little room for privacy.
ReplyDeleteAdding women to a situation like this is only going to complicate matters further! There is a reason no other nation with nuclear submarines is willing to enlist women and Britain should certainly not be the first!!
They are not the first, the U.S. already started assigning women on submarines last november.
