Ingalls Shipbuilding Awarded $46 Million Advance Procurement Contract for DDG 1002 Work

Zumwalt-class destroyerHuntington Ingalls Industries today announced that the company's Ingalls Shipbuilding division has been awarded an advance procurement contract for work on the U.S. Navy's third Zumwalt-class destroyer, DDG 1002.

The contract is valued at $46 million, with the majority of the work taking place at the company's Composite Center of Excellence in Gulfport.

"Strategically, this is a very important contract to our company and specifically to the composite shipbuilders working in Gulfport," said Karrie Trauth, Ingalls Shipbuilding's DDG 1000 program manager.
