Libyan rebel spokesman Hamza Al Shaibani said the chemical weapons facility in Jufra is believed to be leaking toxic material.
"There is a leak in one of the chemical weapons tanks," Al Shaibani told the Saudi-owned daily A-Sharq Al Awsat. "We need to intervene to repair it and must remove all chemical weapons from there."
Libyan rebel sources have confirmed the missile proliferation, adding that Gadhafi's weapons of mass destruction facilities were also endangered.
