Ultra wins Turkish submarine torpedo defence contract

Sea CrypsisUltra Electronics has announced that its Sonar Systems business, based in Greenford, Middlesex, have won a €12.1m contract by Koç Information and Defense Technologies to provide Ultra’s “Sea Crypsis” torpedo defence system for the Turkish New Type AIP submarine programme.

This follows an earlier contract won by Ultra with Havelsan to supply the Sea Sentor torpedo defence system on Turkey’s Milgem corvettes in January 2011.

The Sea Crypsis system incorporates Ultra’s proven torpedo detection, classification and localisation system which is an augmented version of the Sea Sentor.
