Navy welcomes home upgraded submarine from Sweden

RSS ArcherThe Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) yesterday welcomed home the RSS Archer, its first Archer-class submarine.

Chief of Navy, Rear-Admiral Ng Chee Peng, and other senior naval officers were present at Changi Naval Base to witness its return from Sweden.

Launched in Karlskrona, Sweden in June 2009, the RSS Archer is one of two former Royal Swedish Navy Vaastergotland-class submarines acquired by Singapore in 2005.
