North Korea expands Taepodong-2 missile plant facilities

Taepodong-2Analysis of commercial satellite photos found that four new assembly facilities were constructed at a missile production complex in North Korea's Pyeongannam Province, where the Taepodong-2 long-range ballistic missile is believed to have been assembled, South Korea's MBC television reported Friday.

The comparison between satellite photos dated March 2009 and those of this February showed that six new annexes were also built at an engine test site some 500 meters away from the missile plant, the report said.

It also found a cove believed to be used as a missile silo and antiaircraft artillery trenches at nearby mountains, according to the report.
