MPs warn over defence cutbacks

Type-22 (Broadsword) classCutbacks to the Navy and the rest of the armed forces threatens to leave the military unable to do what is asked of it in the future a group of MPs has warned.

The powerful Commons Defence Select committee also disputed the Prime Minister's claim that the UK has a "full spectrum" defence capability.

It has been warned without a real-term funding increase, Britain's forces will have been 'failed'.
