New coast-guard vessel to put into use

The second “Grand A” coast guard vessel, an A-2, which was built by the Maritime Administration Vessel Construction Plant will be put into use, the administration announced yesterday.

A simple blessing and handover ceremony was held yesterday and presided over by Wong Soi Man and Vong Kam Fai, director and deputy director of Maritime Administration, Choi Lai Hang and Lai Man Wa , director general and deputy director of the Macao Customs Service.

The design of the “A-2” is similar to that of the “A-1”, having a length of 25 meters and width of 5.6 metres, and can reach speeds of up to 25 knots.
