Lockheed Martin gets $720.1M Navy deal

Lockheed Martin Corp.'s space and missile division received an additional $720.1 million contract from the Navy for work on subsystems of two kinds of Trident missiles, the Pentagon said late Monday.

The nation's largest defense contractor will be responsible for the missile body, support equipment production, engineering, spares and logistics, and much more, for the Trident I and Trident II.

Both are ballistic missiles launched from submarines, although the Trident II is larger, lighter and stronger.
