India inducts advanced radar to track missiles and jets at high speed

The Indian Air Force has inducted advanced radar system which has the capability to track missiles and fighter jets travelling with a peed of over 3000 km per hour.

Developed by India’s defense electronics company Bharat Electronics Ltd, the system was handed over to the air force for surveillance operations on Wednesday.

Radar can operate in a range of upto 170 kilometres and at an altitude of 15 kilometres, media reports said.

During the handing over ceremony, the Indian Air Chief Marshal said the radar would ensure the IAF better air surveillance capability, particularly at low altitudes.
