161 older F-15s remain grounded

The fate of 161 grounded F-15s remains undetermined as Air Force officials continue to grapple with structural problems on the aging fighter aircraft.

The entire F-15 fleet, some 664 aircraft, was grounded following the Nov. 2 crash of an F-15C in Missouri.

Most have been cleared for flight following extensive inspections. The remainder, all older A through D models, were found to have cracked or non-compliant upper cockpit longerons.
