Turkey invited to join Eurofighter project


Eurofighter Typhoon, Nothing comes close
Europe’s Eurofighter is interested in establishing a partnership with Turkey for the development phase of a new aircraft program, which is likely to come on line in eight months.

The Eurofighter consortium, maker of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, is forging ahead with plans to launch a new development phase in the upcoming six to eight months as part of a program aimed at producing multi-functional aircraft with innovative capabilities.

The consortium is interested in including Turkey in the project, said Giorgio Zappa, CEO of Italy's leading industrial group Finmeccanica, yesterday.
