Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Sunday that the United States has lifted sanctions on jet maker Sukhoi, the Associated Press news agency reports.
The news came after Russian President Vladimir Putin held a bilateral meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush after the conclusion of a Pacific Rim leaders’ summit.
“The issue has been discussed. Bush said that after additional investigation of the problem, it was decided to lift the sanctions from Sukhoi,” Lavrov said.
“We are still waiting for the decision on Rosoboronexport,” he said, referring to a Russian arms exporter also under U.S. sanctions.
