Iran nuclear talks complicated by dispute over missiles and arms

Mohammad Javad Zarif (right) has held 15 meetings with John Kerry over the last 10 daysIran’s foreign minister met his counterparts from six world powers on Monday, but the drive for a nuclear deal was complicated by a dispute over United Nations restrictions on missile technology and arms sales.

The aim of the talks in Vienna is to settle the confrontation over Iran’s nuclear programme, reaching a final agreement by Tuesday.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister, has held 15 meetings with John Kerry, the US secretary of state, over the last 10 days. On Monday, Mr Zarif met all of the foreign ministers from the “P5 plus 1”, a contact group consisting of the Security Council’s five permanent members plus Germany.
