Brazil Aircraft Carrier Modernization Underway

BNS São Paulo (A12)Satellite imagery confirms that Brazil’s Sao Paulo Aircraft Carrier has entered the dry dock at the naval shipyard in Rio de Janeiro, probably to be evaluated for ship improvements.

Few countries in the world have a working aircraft carrier and Brazil happens to be one — even if barely. With a 7,400 km coastline and significant offshore energy reserves, it’s not hard to see why.

Recent space snapshots suggest the country is well underway in maintaining its status as Latin America’s only flattop operator.
