Newly acquired aircraft feature in military rehearsal
Some of the R.O.C.'s recently acquired military aircraft and helicopters were featured at a large-scale rehearsal of a public military display held yesterday in Hsinchu in preparation for an official event next month to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the R.O.C.'s victory over Japan in the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Staged at a military parade ground in Hsinchu County, two weeks ahead of the official event set to take place on July 4, the rehearsal featured AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, P-3C submarine-hunting aircraft, EC225 Super Puma helicopters and PAC-3 missile system.
Other than these U.S.-acquired aircraft and helicopters, weapon systems developed indigenously, including the Unmanned Aircraft System, Hsiung Feng III "Brave Wind" surface-to-surface supersonic anti-ship missile, and the CM-33 Clouded Leopard eight-wheeled armored vehicles, also participated in the rehearsal yesterday presided over by Chief of the General Staff Yen De-fa (嚴德發).
