Attack Aircraft Put on Alert for Training Exercises in Russia's South

More than a dozen Russian Su-25 Frogfoot air support jets from the Southern Military District have been put on alert for training exercises in the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Southern Military District’s press service announced Wednesday.

“Units from the airbase were put on high combat alert and ground service units have developed the action plan for flight preparations. During the exercises, the pilots will conduct tasks on low-elevation flights, search for hidden movements of military equipment, and dodge anti-aircraft defense systems from a conditional enemy,” the press center said.

The exercises will end on June 19.
