Labor unveils local plan for submarines

Collins class SSKBill Shorten has undertaken to honour any submarine contract signed by the Abbott government if Labor wins the next election.

The opposition leader told a submarine conference in Adelaide today that finding the right replacement for Australia’s submarine fleet was so vital to national security that it must be backed by both sides of politics.

Mr Shorten made his call for a bipartizan approach to what will be Australia’s biggest ever defence project at a submarine conference in Adelaide today.
