Transforming U.S.-Egypt ties: What Sadat accomplished, the Obama administration has undone

FREMM class FFGEgypt has already made its move away from the United States, although many in Washington do not seem to even understand what a seismic shift it was.

Egypt is reviving economically and strategically, and promises to transform the Suez-Red Sea strategic maritime environment. And the U.S. White House still supports the opponents of Egypt.

February 2015 saw the dawning of a new strategic reality in the Middle East: Egypt completely broke its strategic dependence on the United States.
