Jacksonville company awarded $14.5 million submarine contract

USS Connecticut (SSN-22)A Jacksonville business has been awarded a nearly $14.5 million contract for work on U.S. submarines.

The engineered polymer products division of Goodrich Corp. based in Jacksonville will deliver high frequency array windows for four classes of submarines — the SSGN Class, Seawolf Class, USS Virginia Class and second flight USS Los Angeles Class.

The product is an acoustic window used with the high frequency sail array, according to the contract announcement.
