German submarine builder ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems interested in buying the ASC

Australian Submarine CorporationThe Australian Submarine Corporation could have German owners if shipbuilding giant ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems wins the contract to build Australia’s next generation of navy submarines.

The Federal Government is expected to soon announce the tender process for the construction of the Future Submarines.

Japan remains the favourite to win the contract but Germany’s ThyssenKrupp remains confident it has a good chance if an open, competitive process is followed.
