FM: China firmly opposes US arms sale to Taiwan


The Chinese foreign ministry spokesman has said China firmly opposes the US arms sale to Taiwan.

He was speaking during Monday’s regular press briefing, when asked to respond to the recent US bill authorizing the US president to sell Taiwan four Perry-class frigates.

"The US arms sale to Taiwan violated US commitments made in the three Sino-US joint communiques, especially the ’August 17th’ one.
