Air Force Global Strike Command is working to streamline the process for sustaining the current intercontinental ballistic missile force, which includes Malmstrom Air Force Base.
The command has implemented the ICBM Parts Centralized Funding Program designed to lessen budgetary pressures on missile wing leadership, according to AFGSC.
As of Oct. 1, the start of the 2015 fiscal year, AFGSC assumed responsibility for the daily funding of the parts costs for the ICBM weapons system. It’s the first attempt by AFGSC to bring that funding up to the major command level since AFGSC stood up in 2009.
