Greek Parliament Passes Law Amendment for Four Navy Submarines

Papanikolis class SSKThe Greek Parliament on Thursday passed a law amendment which provides for the completion of the certification procedures and the operational accession of four new submarines into the Greek Navy fleet.

New Democracy and PASOK — the two coalition government partners — as well as Democratic Left (DIMAR) voted in favor of the law amendment, while the main opposition party’s SYRIZA MPs voted a more neutral “present.”

Speaking in Parliament earlier on Thursday, Greece ‘s Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos declared the end of the lingering problem of the four new Naval submarines at Skaramaga shipyards, in the framework of presenting the relevant law amendment
