Taiwan takes delivery of first Apache choppers

AH-64 ApacheTaiwan's first six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, purchased from the United States, have been delivered, Defense Minister Yen Ming said Monday.

The model E is currently most advanced model of the AH-64 Apache and will greatly improve the military's mobility and power, Yen told legislators during a meeting of the Foreign and National Defense Committee.

The minister said the AH-64E is of better quality than China's latest WZ-10 attack helicopter, although China has more helicopters than Taiwan.
