Benicia firm builds Navy's new carrier's generators

RIX Industries NGEN-30S, High Purity Stationary Inert Gas Nitrogen GeneratorAs the U.S. Navy christens its newest aircraft carrier this weekend, at least one Benician will be on hand swelling with pride over his company's role in the massive vessel.

The Benicia firm of RIX Industries, located in the Benicia Industrial Park, made and supplied both air compressors and generators for the Navy's newest aircraft career, named the Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78).

"It's so historic," said Terry Allvord, the firm's director of business development, who will be on hand for Saturday's christening in Virginia.
