T-20 unmanned aircraft reaches new heights

Arcturus T-20 UAVA small-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) named T-20 set a new altitude record for itself recently, while flying in restricted airspace during a high-altitude flight over Wyoming, manufacturer Arcturus UAV announced on Monday.

The UAV reached an altitude of 23,500 feet during a training flight at Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center. “The previous altitude record for the T-20 was 15,000 feet set at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.,” Arcturus said in a company press release.

“No special modifications to the aircraft were needed. The T-20 UAV was catapult launched and landed safely after the eight-hour flight.” The flight was part of an acceptance test for a new fleet of aircraft.
