Typhoon gets weapons upgrade

EF-2000 Eurofighter TyphoonEuropean defence ministers have agreed to upgrade the missile system on the Eurofighter aircraft.

A new deal signed at the Paris Air Show by ministers from the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain will see the RAF's Typhoon jets armed with Meteor missiles.

The beyond visual range air to air missile is expected to be used alongside existing weapons systems and give pilots more choice.
