DCNS wants to also to play the game. IDAS missiles will be operational on German Type 212 submarines by 2014. IDAS missiles don’t require a capsule to emerge. Therefore 4 missiles are stored in a magazine size of a torpedo. The missile is guided by an optical wire nonetheless it could operate autonomously. The submarine can really see what they are going to hit from 50 m below the sea. Therefore this system is nearly immune against decoys and an attack can be aborted in case the helicopter is looks friendly.

First successful test firing from a submerged submarine (U33) was in 2008. http://www.diehl.com/en/diehl-group/press/successful-idas-missile-firing-from-submerged-submarine/190.html?tx_ttnews[pointer]=54&cHash=7aafd8c3f15ab0bc19805f9a39a15335
    (more than just French CGI)

The Mistral solution with a mast mounted starter was discarded by German Navy because the submarine had to emerge to fire the missile.
