Raytheon gets $33.3M DOD contract; General Dynamics snaps up $41.5M

Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) |Raytheon Missile Systems, a division of Raytheon Company, which develops missile systems for U.S. and allied forces, was awarded a $33.3 million contract by the U.S. Department of Defense, the federal agency announced Thursday.

The work contracted by the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., is for procurement of long lead material in support of Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) Block I all up rounds.

SM-6 are used on cruisers and destroyers and provide air defense against fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and land-attack anti-ship cruise missiles in flight, both over sea and land, according to Raytheon.
