Buying French Weapons for 'Name support" not working for Greece

U 214 Class |Not having history or facts on its side meant official Athens had to 'buy' the support of other countries visavi the long standing 'name dispute' with Macedonia.

It was precisely the relationship Greece had with official Paris, in particularly with the former president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Greece had purchased all sorts of aerial, land and sea based weapons from France, and in return Sarkozy publicly sided with Greece against Macedonia.
