U.S. Senate honors aircraft carrier Enterprise


On the final day of the 112th Congress, the Senate approved a resolution commemorating the inactivation of the aircraft carrier Enterprise and honoring those who served aboard the iconic ship over its 51 years of service.

In some of his final remarks on the Senate floor Wednesday, Sen. Jim Webb, a co-sponsor on the resolution, said he was proud to salute those who had served on the ship.

"As a result of their dedication and sacrifice during peace and war, the Big E answered all bells," said Webb, a former secretary of the Navy.
