The Alexander Nevsky, the first serial Project 955 Borei-class nuclear submarine, will launch a Bulava strategic sea-based missile as part of its tests in early July 2013, a Russian defense industry source told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday."The Alexander Nevsky will perform its first Bulava launch from an underwater position as part of tests in early July," the source said.
The possibility of a simultaneous launch of Bulava missiles from the Yury Dolgoruky and the Alexander Nevsky is being analyzed, the source said.
