U.S. Navy Continues Testing of Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles For Aircraft Carriers

X-47B UCAS-D |Navy representatives recently participated in tests for the Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstration (UCAS-D) that will drive recommendations for digital messaging implementation and unmanned aircraft integration into the carrier environment.

Air traffic controllers from USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) supported the final Human Systems Integration (HSI) modeling and simulation testing at the N-UCAS Aviation/Ship Integration Facility (NASIF) here.

The HSI evaluations included analyses and tests of the displays, controls, environments, system communications, overall task allocations and operator situations.
