Elbit, Northrop develop new TF/TA system

C-130E Hercules |Israel's Elbit Systems is developing a terrain-following and terrain-avoidance system for C-130 aircraft in cooperation with Northrop Grumman.

The TF/TA system will give the aircraft's pilot ability to fly at low levels under limited-visibility conditions "terrain following and avoidance" profiles.

Elbit said the system uses head-up display application and Northrop Grumman's AN/APN-241 Terrain Following Radar for an avionic upgrade for existing or new C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
