A Pentagon spokesman said that "there has been no change" in the U.S. government's plan to deploy the MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft in Japan despite a recent crash in Florida.
The U.S. government plans to deploy the MV-22 Osprey at the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station in Okinawa Prefecture, starting in the U.S. fiscal year that begins in October.
Defense Department spokesman John Kirby said Friday the investigation into the cause of the accident "can take a couple of weeks or some months," stressing that it will be conducted "very thoroughly."
