Minor fire extinguished on USS George H.W. Bush

USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77)The Navy says a minor fire broke out on the nation's newest aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush but that no one was injured.

Officials said Thursday that the fire around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in an unoccupied berthing compartment was quickly extinguished.

Naval Air Force Atlantic says damage to the ship was assessed as minimal. The cause hasn't been determined.
