The Maltese Armed Forces invest €30 million in new equipment

[Beechcraft King Air B200]Over the past four years the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) invested over €30 million in the purchase of equipment including the latest addition of a maritime patrol aircraft which cost €9.7 million.

The aircraft is one of two marine patrol aircraft that the AFM has purchased recently against an investment of €19 million. The army is now building a new hangar to be able used for the new planes.

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, speaking during the roll out ceremony of the aircraft, said that the Armed Forces are today equipped with the latest technology and equipment to carry out its duties in an efficient and effective manner.
