Launch of weapon test postponed

[Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile]The launch of a Minuteman 3 missile planned for early Tuesday morning from Vandenberg Air Force Base has been delayed, officials said.

The test of the unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile was scheduled to occur during a six-hour launch window that was to open at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday, officials said. Minuteman missiles are launched from underground silos on North Base.

Once the weapon blasts off, the military will track the lone warhead as it travels to a target in the central Pacific Ocean.
