Philippine DND to acquire attack aircraft

Philippine Air Force EmblemThe Department of National Defense (DND) is planning to acquire a squadron of surface attack aircraft in the next few years to beef up the military’s capability to secure the country’s airspace.

In its planning guidance for 2013 to 2018, DND said enhancing the country’s air assets would address the Philippines’ territorial defense concerns.

Documents obtained by The STAR showed that the DND also wants to acquire air surveillance radars and to develop the military’s air defense system.

I think the govt. only to show that they are concern about the defense but drastically never happen since 2005 the Pilippine air space was open to any aggressor nation, why still on planning nevertheless they playdown the importance of defense in the country safety.the purchase of combat utility helicopter was cancelled and now instead of buying air defense, just come out of planning only and it will occurs in 2013 this was not yet on the blue print,haaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! what is going on in the philippines really?
