Dartmouth firm nets sonar deal

Sonar softwareA Dartmouth company has landed a $920,000 contract to help develop sonar software for Canadian navy warships.

Akoostix Inc., in Burnside Park, will work with Defence Research and Development Canada Atlantic over the next 2½ years by providing software development support and data analysis.

“We’re excited about it,” Akoostix president Joe Hood said in an interview Thursday.
