Thales to pay Eur 170 mln over frigate legal dispute

FS La Fayette (F 710)French defence electronics group Thales on Thursday said it had been ordered to pay 170 million euros ($248.3 million) in a legal dispute with Taiwan over the procurement of six Lafayette-class frigates.

However, the French group said the payment would have a negligible impact on its financial results as the litigation had already been fully provisioned for in previous years.
