Russian aircraft manufacturing company Sukhoi has successfully conducted a test-flight of the production version of a fighter jet that promises to fill a critical gap in the country's air defenses, Russian news agencies reported on Tuesday.
A Su-35S Flanker-E multirole fighter completed a one-and-a-half hour test-flight on Monday above the far-eastern Russian city of Komsomolsk-Na-Amure without incident, the company said.
An upgraded version of the Su-27 fighter jet, the Sukhoi-35 can effectively engage several air targets simultaneously using both guided and unguided missiles and weapon systems.
