San Diego-based aircraft carrier puts bin Laden to rest for good

As CNN reported, after dying in the early Monday morning hours in a Pakistani compound at the hands of an elite unit of the U.S. Navy Seals, Osama bin Laden's body was transported by helicopter back to a San Diego-based U.S. aircraft carrier, where he was then prepared for burial at sea.

Bin Laden was buried at sea from the deck of the U.S. aircraft carrier Carl Vinson in the Arabian Sea on Monday, in keeping with Muslim tradition.
