Hundreds line streets as HMS Gloucester gets royal send off

HMS GloucesterHundreds lined the city's streets to pay their respects to great naval vessel HMS Gloucester.

The Royal Navy Type 42 destroyer HMS Gloucester exercised its Freedom of the City for the last time on Saturday prior to being decommissioned from service.

Under current plans, when the ship is decommissioned, its name will be consigned to the history books with new destroyers not taking up the name.
